BackupPilot

This product builds upon the range to provide organisations of all sizes with the ability to back-up mission critical information not only to an appliance on-site, but also to a secure remote datacentre. Effectively this means that the reliance on hit and miss tape restores totally disappears, data can be recovered from the BackupPilot in real-time - including SQL database entries and Microsoft Exchange e-mail. The BackupPilot can not only copy all the data from servers, but also PC's and even laptops which are seldom in the office providing everything from a total machine rebuild to recovery of individual files.

Key issues with traditional tape based back-up solutions include a lack of space, the time taken to back-up key services and very often the integrity of the data being backed-up. Unfortunately, when it comes to the later, it is not until the data needs to be restored when a tape or drive problem shows itself. By backing up to hard disk, the BackupPilot puts an end to hit and miss backup reliability and extends the amount of data which can be held locally to a massive 500Gb. Data restores do not involve the finding of tapes, individual files from specific points in time can be recovered whilst simultaneously providing off site storage of mission critical data.
